There are lots of local shows coming up during August but these three events are all held so close to the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal that it would be a shame to miss them.

August 3rd - Brecon County Show This show attracts exhibitors from all over the country and is based around livestock such as Horses, Cattle, Goats and Poultry. There are also 200 trade exhibitors with some of the best British produce to offer, as well as a dog show, fun fair, food hall and of course a beer tent! A great family day out with something for everyone and easily accessed from the canal.

August 24th -  Talybont on Usk Show Plenty of exhibits on show in marquees and the village hall at this community event, as well as various activities taking place on the field. A fun day for all and chance to share in the great community spirit of Talybont on Usk.

August 25th  -   Llangynidr Show There is so much to see in one day at this country show and all a stone’s throw from the canal! The main ring will be busy all day with attraction such as Falconry, gun dog skills, ferret racing and much more. Classes for cattle, sheep and horses will be held throughout the day as well as demonstrations of shearing and spinning. A farmer’s market marquee will be crammed with locally produced goods, whilst the village hall will house the craft and garden classes. Vintage cars, bikes and tractors will be on display and of course there will be food stalls as well as teas and cake available on site. There really is something for everyone at this event.
