We received a warm welcome from Sally who showed John around the Duchess to explain the internal features of the boat. This was followed by Nigel who gave us detailed instructions: It was not only very informative and professionally delivered but also with practical advice which proved essential for smooth running.
Our week was so very enjoyable as the canal is really beautiful, the scenery changing all the time; and for us the weather was wonderful and the people and places where we stopped were friendly and helpful.
In our early days we owned a 40ft steel hulled narrow boat which we loved, but economics meant we had to sell it. The Duchess reminded us so much of our old boat and brought back happy memories of our boating days. In between we have had other narrow boat holidays but this is the best experience to date.
