We traveled on the Duchess from Road House Narrow Boats at Gilwern. We were 4 adults and 1 child (plus a dog!) and we all really enjoyed the experience of travelling at a slower place for a week. Walking the towpath or sitting at the front of the boat there were always new things to see. Plus the excitement of 5 locks, a tunnel and assorted swing bridges all added to the fun. Nigel and Sally of Road House Narrow Boats couldn’t have been more helpful and the boat was well equipped. Some good places to eat along the way made it a very relaxing week.
